The TAG Collectibles team have spent over 10 years in the collectibles trade – and will either buy or loan against your collectibles at a price that’s fair.
When it comes time to part with some or all of your collection, selling can be a hassle.
Dealing with:
- Ghosting
- Scammers
- Shipping fees
- Monitoring marketplace changes – is something that’s time-consuming (and time is money!).
- Wasting time with people who don’t know the value of your items.
You won’t have those problems with us.
We hold a valid Pawnbrokers and second-hand dealer’s licence.
Not only does this mean we’re thoroughly regulated by Fair Trading NSW, it also means you can be assured that we’ll take all the hassle out of shipping, scammers ghosts and negotiations.
How?
By giving you a fair price for your collectibles with money. Instantly.

Sell Your Video Games & Consoles
Our collectible store takes video games and consoles. Whether it be a SEGA, a modern-day Xbox One or a Game Boy treasure sitting on your back shelf.
How much money do pawn shops give you for video games?
Pawn shops will give you different amounts of money for video games depending on the precise game, but you can expect anywhere between 10%-30% of their value.
Our team here at TAG takes a different approach and are committed to recognising the true value of the collectible (something that regular pawn shops just won’t do).
Games and consoles today are exceptionally valuable and going for a lot of money. Our team at TAG have seen a number of example, including:
- The 2003 game Futurama on the Xbox Original could be worth up to USD $150.
- The classic 1999 Suikoden II (Konami) for Sony PlayStation 1 could go for more than USD $300.
- The survival horror game Kuon (Agetec/Indie Games) for Sony PlayStation 2 may go for up to USD $780.
- The critically acclaimed Ninja Five-O (Konami) on the Nintendo Game Bou Advance could go for up to USD $1,000.
- The hard-to-find Pokémon Box: Ruby and Sapphire on Nintendo Game Cube could be worth up to $1,300.
- The revolutionary action-packed Zork for the Apple II would be worth up to USD $2,500.
- The rare Little Samson on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) could go for up to USD $8,000.
- The practically mythical 1987 Stadium Events on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) can for an unbelievably high price of USD $35,000.
And when we start talking about video game consoles:
- A Pikachu Nintendo 64 Set could go for USD $1,000.
- A 1990 Neo-Geo could be worth up to USD $1,900.
- A 1997 Commodore 64 GS new in the box could be worth up to USD $2,500.
- A Nintendo 64DD can go for USD $3,000.

Get a loan on your collectibles
We will lend you up to 50%-70% for items with a stable price history, but will loan less for assets that have a tendency to fluctuate in value. We will not lend for collectibles that don’t meet our criteria.
Our team will thoroughly assess each item of your collection to determine its precise market value, so you know exactly how much you’re sitting on.
Whether it be:
- A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Boxset (which can be valued for up to hundreds of dollars)

- A He-Man & Masters of the Universe Eternia Playset (which can go for up to USD $3,000)
- An ultra-rare Pokémon Card (which can be valued for as high as USD $12,000) – OR
- The classic 1984 SEGA game of Tetris (that we could possibly value at USD $16,000)
There is so much opportunity lurking within that collection of yours.
Our team professionally value it and give you an instant cash loan.
Here’s how it works:
Very simply…
- Choose the collectibles you want valued
- Send us pictures and videos of your item (which will allow us to negotiate with you) – You can also show your item physically at our warehouse located in Kings Park (if you’re in NSW)
- Provide us with 100 points of identification and a declaration that your items are not stolen.
- Receive an expert valuation from one of our licensed pawnbrokers
- Leave your collectibles with us and receive your cash instantly
- Pay off your financial commitments
- Return the money you received from us (plus a very small amount of interest) and get your collectibles back!
We were granted our pawnbrokers licence in 2021.
TAG Collectibles buys all items, and loans cash pursuant to our NSW pawnbrokers’ license.
Read more about what this means below.
Should I sell my collectibles?
You should only sell your collectibles if you’re absolutely sure you want to.
If you’re looking to meet some financial obligation by selling your collectibles, consider taking out a loan on them.
Through our NSW pawnbroking licence, TAG Collectibles provides a customised valuation for your collectible (at no cost), and then give you its money worth on the condition that you return it with a small amount of interest.
How do you determine the value of my collection?
We will value your collection by considering all known sales sources, pop culture sources and the condition of your specific collectible items.
Please note that our team are not certified formal appraisers. We will simply look at your items closely and give you an idea on the market value and present you a monetary offer to either purchase your item or provide you a pawnbroking loan.
Will you take any collectible I want to sell?
No. We only buy collectibles that fit within our four main product lines:
- Action figures
- Retro gaming
- Pokémon
- Pop vinyls
However, we may accept other rarities, so it’s always worth asking us if we will take something! We may very well be interested!
When will I receive my money?
Depending on the bank, it can take between 1-3 business days for the money to land in your account.
If you pay by Osko, you should get the money in your account within 2 hours of closing a deal with us.
If you visit our warehouse at Kings Park, NSW and made a transaction with us there, you can get your cash right there and then (or we can transfer money into your bank account)!
How does pawning work?
Some people may need to borrow some money to pay off a debt, and they may not be able to receive that money from traditional lenders. We will lend you money in exchange for security over your collection, as long as it falls within our four main collectible lines: action figures, games, Pokémon and pop vinyls.
These loans can be anywhere from a few hundred dollars up to the tens of thousands, depending on how valuable your item is.
Where do you keep my items?
If we take your items as security, we will keep them locked up in a safe at our warehouse in Kings Park, NSW.
For higher-end collectibles they are kept under additional security using our safes.
Do I need to provide identification?
Yes. If you want to sell your collectibles or take out a cash loan with us, you will need to provide us with 100 points of identification plus a declaration that the item you are providing us is not stolen.
What if I can’t pay back my loan?
If you can’t pay back your loan, you can apply for a renewal with us. You will need to pay the interest that has accrued, and we can provide you a new loan.
If you are unable to pay back your loan, we will have the right to keep your collectibles and place them up for sale.
How long do I have to pay back my loan?
You can take a loan from 1 to 3 months. You can pay it back at any time throughout that period.
What’s in the fine print?
Pawnbrokers make their money through providing loans to customers and charging interest, taking items as security.
We do transactions under our pawnbroker licence, and that means pawnbroker rates.
We’ll simply take your items and holds them as security while you pay off a debt with cash we provide you.
We’re shaking up the pawn broking business a little bit by not charging interest above 20% where most pawnbrokers charge over 35%. We’re more interested in ensuring you’re able to maintain your collection and its value while meeting any unexpected debts or bills you come across in life.
Do pawnbrokers charge interest?
Yes. Pawnbrokers charge interest on the money that they have loaned you for the period you’ve borrowed funds.
Our service will only charge you a minimal amount of interest compared to many other pawn shops out there in today’s market.
We’re much more focused on ensuring that our members have the most valuable collection possible. We don’t want them sacrificing their collection because of some debt they need to pay off or some financial obligation they need to meet.
Are pawnbrokers regulated?
Absolutely. Pawnbrokers in Australia are regulated by various state-based legislation.
TAG Collectibles is a licensed pawnbroker in New South Wales pursuant to the Pawnbrokers and Second-hand Dealers Act 1996 (NSW) and their associated regulations.
Section 6 of the Pawnbrokers Act says that a person must not carry on “a business of lending money on the security of pawned goods” except in accordance with their licence. Fines apply if our collectible pawnbrokers do not comply with the law and the terms of their licence.
Pawnbrokers are also not allowed to hold a licence unless they are a ‘fit and proper person’.
